| It was a quiet, undiscovered North-Coast village in the early 1970s. The population of Point Reyes Station consisted of ranch families who had been here for generations, some new-age hippies, and the local business people who served them all. Every once in a while wayfaring strangers found their way into town for gas, a meal, or a bit of tranquility. |

These days, Point Reyes National Seashore and the surrounding region have become a popular destination for hikers, birders, cyclists and equestrians. And the Station House Café remains a popular stopover for out-of-town visitors and locals alike.
Since opening its doors in 1974, the Café has received national praise in magazine and newspaper reviews, with two articles in Gourmet alone. Even our garden, a favorite setting for wedding parties and special events, has garnered praise: the Inverness Garden Club awarded ours the “Best Large Garden” of 2005. |
